When I was young, I wished to go to Japan because they said there’s a lot of Hello Kitty there. But I can’t. So when I was living in the Philippines, I tried saving for it and had my collections from stuff toys, wall lamp, pillows, bedsheets, and blankets but when I needed to come to Korea, I cannot bring it all so I gave it to my friends.
Missing the Hello Kitty Cafe at Hongdae
Luckily in the year 2017, I found out this Hello Kitty Cafe at Hongdae before was bigger than the one at Myeongdong. The one at Myeong was also closed for renovation and not sure if it’s the same after renovation or a new lease.
A two-story cafe + souvenir shop + mini Hello Kitty museum but this cafe was closed already and I felt sad when I heard about it. This was a great place for Hello Kitty lovers because it’s extra pink and cuteness are over the place. It’s a nice place to hang out with friends and family especially when you are a big fan of Hello Kitty.
The cafe also has a Gift Shop where you can able to purchase Hello Kitty merchandise. Just prepare your wallet because of some of the items are bit pricey.
The room on the second floor, we stayed here because it’s cozier because you can see the view outside.
The Hello Kitty Bedroom consists of a Hello Kitty bed, pillows, bed sheet, blanket, and stuff toys. It also has this Hello Kitty chair, table, and mirror. All in all, it’s about Hello Kitty. But it’s just an average cafe with a little bit pricey when it comes to their food menu.
This cafe is closed already, the last I heard about this place was opened for an exhibit.
