100 Years in the Past and Future: A Book from Cheong Wa Dae, a special gift from the office of the President and from the First Lady.
Last May 28, I received an email from Ms. Chaeyon Lee, one of the Public Relations Officer of Korean Culture & Information Service from Korea.net that I will also receive a book from Cheong Wa Dae. It was unexpected so I was really surprised when I’ve read the email.
So a few days ago, I received a package containing a book from Cheong Wa Dae (the official residence of the Sout Korean President) and it also includes a signed letter from the First Lady Kim Jung-sook. The book is all about the selected speeches of President Moon Jae-in. It was published in 2019 which marks the 100th Anniversary of the March First Independence Movement of Korea.
A Special Gift from Cheong Wa Dae: Why I got this book?
The email I received a few weeks ago asking for my home address also stated that the First Lady wanted to give a present and a letter as an appreciation to Honorary Reporters articles about Korea’s response to Covid 19.
I have submitted 3 articles but only one was got approved. It’s not bad since the article has been approved on the main page of Korea.net. Read the article below.
Letter of the First Lady Kim Jung-sook
The letter was written in Korean but the translation says:
Your article about Korea’s efforts to overcome COVID-19 makes us feel deep affection for Korea and Koreans.
We hope that our efforts with solidarity and turn anxiety and fear into hope will help people all over the world.
Though the pandemic, we realize that the world is one. Your activities are comforting and cheering for Koreans and people around the world.
I send this book deep gratitude. I hope for good health and looking forward to good articles.
First Lady Kim Jung-sook
It is my first year as an Honorary Reporter of Korea.net and it will be memorable because in my first year I received a special gift from the office of the President. A gift that I will cherish and pass to my son and grandchildren in the future.
