Insadong: What to see and how to go?
Insadong is one of the famous traditional Korean streets in Seoul where the visitors come often. In this area, you will see boutique shops, handicraft shops, local restaurants, antique wooden tea houses and cafes, traditional stationery shops, art galleries, porcelain, and pottery shops that line-up along the alleys and streets.
Ssamziegil (쌈지길) Shopping Complex
This a four-story building with almost seventy different kinds of shops where you can enjoy the unique and wonderful site of a traditional and cultural sense of Korea.
Throughout the building with four floors, you’ll find Korean crafts surrounding the traditional and modern, a combination of the old and new Korea. There are also available hand ceramics, textile, metal-works, woodworks that you can buy as souvenirs. Some boutiques and designers hops are selling fashion items, handmade glasses, collectibles, and housewares.
When you reach the top, you can see a sky garden where you can able to get an extraordinarily clear view of the sky.
There are street foods available too like this bread that looks like poop. Before a set of bread and drink is 4,000 won and a couple of set is around 6,000 won but these days I am not sure if the price is still the same.,
Aside from souvenir shopping, visiting the art galleries, wearing hanbok, relaxing at a cafe or tea house is great too. If you are looking for traditional and special brushes for calligraphy and painting, Insadong has it.
